About Us
As the name
suggests, The Bank Of Knowledge is a web site primarily devoted to
the pursuit of knowledge. This site is brain-child of Prof.
M.R.Sethi, who retired as Professor of English after thirty five
years of teaching. In addition he is a bibliophile and a free lance
writer.
As this is a 'Bank' of knowledge, the users can not only draw from
it whatever knowledge it provides, they can deposit their wealth of
knowledge for the benefit of other fellow surfers. This web site has
informative sections dealing with different branches of knowledge.
We intend to add more sections shortly. In the meantime, suggestions
for further addition/improvement as well as contributions to various
sections are welcome and would be gratefully acknowledge.
There has been an explosion of knowledge in the modern times. But it
is often deplored that the modern intellectual has bitten more than
he can chew. That is to say, we have knowledge at our disposal -- it
is often only a mouse-click away -- yet this knowledge has not led
to the attainment of wisdom. With that in view, we have added a
section 'Art of Living' where, it will be our endeavor to present --
along with the day to day knowledge -- the loftier side of life or
to provide material which would help the troubled humanity cope
with, (to quote Matthew Arnold), "This strange disease of modern
times, with its sick hurry, divided aims."
